Scottish Highland Castle Accommodation
Erchless Castle was built in the thirteenth century, became the home of Clan Chisholm in the 16th century and has seen many changes and additions over the years. For those of you that are returning guests you will see that we have made some improvements and upgrades to our Scottish Highland castle accommodation for your comfort. We hope you will enjoy your visit and appreciate the tranquillity and magnificence of its unique position in Scotland.
Thirteenth century Scottish castle close to Inverness
Ideally situated for enjoying all the Scottish Highlands have to offer, Erchless Castle at Struy near Beauly is a forty five minute drive from Inverness. The estate consists of 12,000 acres, the highest point being the Phollain at 855 metres. Red deer, stag and hind stalking are available in season and the estate has two beats (4 rods per beat) on the River Glass.
The castle accommodation sleeps a maximum 16 people, but we can also provide a travel cot for babies and has six principal bedrooms, with four doubles, including two four posters, and two twin rooms. There is also a small dressing room with a single bed adjacent to one of the double rooms, and a dormitory with three single beds.
Much of the Highland castle has been recently refurbished for additional comfort. Dressing gowns and hair-dryers are provided. Erchless castle accommodation is let on a self-catering basis but we have contact numbers for local chefs and caterers if required.
The castle is available from £1,750 per week (October 2nd - March 27th, excluding Christmas and New Year). £1,950 (March 27th - July 10th). £2950 (July 10th - August 7th). £3,950 (August 7th - October 2nd). Christmas week £3,500 and New Year £4,200. Fishing and stalking are not included. Week-ends available out of season by request.
